The Wedding Toast
Child in foreground waiting for cake!
Today is our 33rd wedding anniversary. My husband, Randy, and I were married on this perfect Saturday evening in May of 1976. The ceremony was held in my parent's back yard. All was wonderful until later in the evening. My Maid of Honor's cousins got into a fist fight out in the middle of the street. What were they fighting over? Who was going to steal the empty keg, return it to the liquor store and pocket the deposit money. Family. Ya gotta love 'em.
Marriage is ebb and flow. We are in flow at the moment, thank goodness. Anniversaries are much happier celebrations when this is so!

Happy anniversary! you are so right about the ebb and flow, and I agree with Brian--staying together through both--
I love your wedding photo, and the story.
Thanks everybody! Let's celebrate this as a day of LOVE!!
Happy Anniversary indeed . .gotta love the sideburns!
Excellent. Congratulations and happy, happy anniversary weekend! I would have been about the age of the child in 1976 - and yes, would have been standing as close to the cake as could be!!
Baino: Oh, yeah! Those sideburns. That was a style statement I wasn't sorry to see fade. I remember those HUGE "mutton chop" side burns. Scary.
Megan: Yes, I remember that little girl. She was so excited about the cake that we had to hurry along the toast. Everyone has their priorities. You are such a young, little thing.
Happy anniversary, Ronda! Love the honey-moon car!
@Baino, hey! I had side-burns like that( well, ere I joined the Navy )
Ronda, may you have many more happy years :)
Thanks, Subby! I loved that honeymoon car too. We later ended up buying it from my mother-in-law and I drove it until 2000. She was a GREAT car!
Those sideburns were all the rage, once upon a time. Those and Leisure suits. Been long enough that it's probably time for a comeback.
Happy Anniversary! May your life be filled with health, happiness and great moments for you and the people you love!
Here's to the years to come :)
xoxo
Happy anniversary! But that car...you could put two smart cars inside that hood...
happy anniversary! 1976 is definitely one of my favorite years...twas the year that I found my life's mate and started sharing a life TOGETHER.... may you have another great 33 years together!
VE: That would be "smart" in the event of a breakdown:)
Mouse: Yes, it was a good a year and congrats to you too. That is a l-o-n-g time!
Happy anniversary!
Oh this is wonderful! What a lovely bride you were, and you're still lovely!
