Four Tissues and a Wedding

As a young woman,
I smiled at weddings.

I cheered BRAVO
as the new couple began
their dream life together.

As a mature woman,
I smile at weddings.

My heart, burning with the
knowledge of the lessons they'll
learn during their lifetime together,
be it long or short,
sends a wet tear down my cheek.

Flash 55: Tell a story in 55 words of less.

Amazing what you can relatein 55 words. Having been married for 12+ years, I can totally understand all the sentiments in the story. Great job.

I'm impressed by this mini story (using only 55 words!!) revolving around a wedding, a new couple, a woman-guest and a smile.

I like the two vivid images composing this story: in the first one - a young woman smiling and cheering; in the second one - a mature, knowledgeable woman smiling and dropping a tear.

Wonderful little piece of writing!

Much can be said in 55 words as you demonstrated in this lovely combination!

Great 55 and a lot of wisdom in so few words. You just are gonna make me have to try this sometime, well not yet anyway. Brian hasn't gotten me to do it yet either. Heck I am still working on 55 for my comments. But you are doing great.

Oh and I finally got a new installment of Opal Nation posted for TT. I figured I better get back on the horse or just stay on the ground and I didn't want the horse to step on me. I hope you enjoy it.

Plus I hope you will do the "If" meme. I really would like to see your answers. I know they would be interesting.

Have a great weekend.

God bless.

Weddings are amazing, beginnings and compromises and forgiving and promising and tears and laughter. You and your family pulled off a beautiful event.

Weddings...sigh...good stuff.

Brian: You do know about journeys, don't you? Thanks for the advice about leaving a comment at gman's. I hadn't thought about post it for the circuit.

Kate (Cocktail): In the beginning, I thought how could I ever relate a story in so few words but, actually one can tell quite a bit. Yes, after 12 years of marriage, I'm sure you know what I mean.

DUTA: You are so eloquent. YOU bring a tear to my eye.

Mouse: I think you just started a new writing challenge. The Flash 3: Tell a story in three letters or less.

Dorraine: I would love to see what you come up with for a Flash 55. I think you would perform quite well. I'm waiting...

Ronda Laveen said...

Sherry: I know how hard it would be for you to compose a Flash 55. You are right your comments are often 5x that amount. You are so generous with your contribution to blog society. I was so excited to see you had FINALLY post a new episode of Opal Nation!

TechnoBabe: Yes, forgiveness and love are the biggies aren't they?

Kate: Welcome and thanks. I'll be over to visit soon.

Jill: You are right about the challenge--both in weddings and Flash 55's.

It's been a long time since I've actually attended a wedding but my best friend's son is getting married in March. I'm sort of interested to see how I'll react. He's the first of 8 children who grew up together to tie the knot. I know his mother will be a blubbering mess!

Mike said...

That was very touching, Ronda. Perspective is always so different with age and experience.

Ronda Laveen said...

Baino: Please let me know how you feel during the cermeony. Wow! The first of 8 kids who grew up together to get married. March is almost here.

Otin: Yes, age and experience definitley show one the perspective points of life.

It's funny how our perspective changes, isn't it? A little life experience can go a long way.

Great 55!

It never seems as though it could be possible to me, but it usually works out well - like marriage, I suppose!

I think it is terribly romantic when two people decide to take a chance on one another and commit to building a life together. I think thats why I fet all teary-eyed at weddings and births..so much possibility. Its only sad when the possibility isn't nurtured or explored. Fantastic though, I'm thinking of love a lot lately.

Eternally Distracted: I don't think you babble you just have a lot to say.

Tony: Hey, glad you see you back and around again!
