The 23% Psalm of Credit~
"This CARD is my treasure; I shall not want.
I take it with me to lie down for green
dollars:
It leadeth me into the spa waters.
It restoreth my lap pool:
It leadeth me on the path of spending more
than I can ever make.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of debt
I will hear no evil: for thou art with me; my iPod and my iPhone comfort me.
Thou purchased this screen before me, all 72 inches of plasma:
thou filled my breasts with silicone; my D cup runneth over.
Surely, the principles of buy now and pay later shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the CARDS until they collapse."

The collapse has come. Like Icarus, excited by the thrill of flying, we were overcome by the thrill of buying. Yearning to possess all the world has to offer, with little regard to repayment, we flew too close to the sun. Our wings, instead of wax, were crafted of plastic—overused, we are now undone. We are a nation drowning in the Sea of Debt. We must now learn to soar again without the use of our laminated wings.

Fantanstic.
I love this post. Okay, just asking again if I can pass this along in my e-mail. Yours seems to be the only one I do this with. The trillion one turned out great. Pictures posted and it went through.
I love Psalms. I have posted about some of them before. But nothing like this one. Are you gonna keep changing your header. Those are great too.
I'm scared to death of credit cards with their contracts and 25 % interest rate. They seem so scary so I stay far, far away! The sad thing is, you can't really go far without plastic, you can't even make a reservation at a hotel now without one. Great post by the way.
Sherry, feel free to pass on any info I put up. I love Psalms too! And yes, I will continue to change header. I have to go to work now but will ck out your new post this pm. You are crankin' out a lot of work lately! Are you able to keep up? I will get the Mark Cuban post info for you that you want.
E.L. Yes, credit cards can be scary. And it is true, you can't go far with out them. You need them to build credit, but if you have too many, even if you don't use them, they count it against you in your credit score. It is hard to negotiate life without them. But the world is changing (a whole lot this last week or two) and the rules may change. But in all things, moderation is the key. Love your writing.
Let the house of cards come down, please!
I'm a lot like Evening Light Writer - plain scared. I don't even have a cc. But you can only go so far. Well, let's see if I can keep my promise to myself and never ever get one. I am not entirely sure if that's reasonable or possible. Time will tell.
Reya: AMEN!!!!AMEN!!!!AMEN!!!!
Christina: How old are you? ELW's profile says she is 25. Whatever your age, I compliment your ability to get to where you are without the CARDS! And I would love to hear more about how you do in life without them.
