August Gusto

Note: All three photos are of my new workspace before I started getting it set up.

Saturday is the first day of August. Lammas, or Lady Day, is another jewel in the crown of the year. The year, that was born anew at Winter Solstice, is now a matron. In the northern hemisphere, the trees and fields, having lost their new, green growth sheen, stand like bronze statues in the heat of summer. We are half way between the Summer Solstice and Fall Equinox. The projects and dreams that we set into motion at Solstice are about to come into form.

The days are beginning to shorten as the nights lengthen. The waning of the year progresses. Summer, although still hot, is turning toward fall. The crops are beginning to produce but the realization of a full harvest is not yet secured. The fates can still steal the bounty away from us before the time of gathering. This is a time of hope for positive outcomes. In some Native American traditions, it is the time of the green corn dances or first fruit harvest.

My teacher, Sai Maa Lakshmi Devi, celebrates her birthday this weekend also. She will be sending out a shakti, an energy, that is very high, positive and strong. Around the globe there will be groups of people from different spiritual beliefs celebrating and spinning promises of hope and completion out into the world.

I am moving my business this weekend also and give my first massage on Saturday, August 1. I'm thinking this is a very good day to start anew. Yes, a very good day indeed. This weekend stick your hand out and grab onto some of those rays of hope flying around as you would the brass ring on a merry-go round. Set your intentions for the next six weeks as you spin the wheel-of-the-year's-fortune toward Fall Equinox. May your needle land on the Grand Prize. Yeah!

Hi Ronda,

Sending lots and lots of best wishes for your opening day. I know you will do well and I hope you will post a few pictures of how it has turned out after you have set everything up. It looks like it will be a great place to get a massage from you.

May your first day be blessed with all those wonderful rays flying around the world. I will try to send a ray to you.

God bless.

I love the personification of the cycle of the year--that's sort of how I think of it too.

Your space is very very nice.

Love that room and all it's quirky angles. Send me some Shakti . .I have two interviews on Monday! And the best of luck with the move. I wish you were closer! I need a relaxathonic spa! Fall for you but that means the onslaught of warm August winds for us. Spring's just four weeks away and boy am I ready!

Hi! Ronda,
I like when you explain...the changing of the seasons...Winter Solstice,
Summer Solstice and the Fall Equinox...and what each Solstices means.

"This is a time of hope for positive outcomes. In some Native American traditions, it is the time of the green corn dances or first fruit harvest."
Ronda, this is true!

By the way, nice workspace!...Oops! I must admit I'am running behind...This is probably what I need to relax.

Happy TT Thanks, for sharing!

Hi Ronda,

Just checking in to see how your first day went. Oh how I wish I could have a massage, but at this point it would probably hurt my shoulder too much. Even just sitting and doing nothing hurts. Sigh.

I do hope you had so much business that you are too tired to even get on the computer and that you are passed out asleep right now. I hope you grabbed all those rays.

God bless.

Lettuce: It is soooooo hot where I live that autumn is sounding wonderful. It gets over 110 here regularly in the summer.

Tony: Your rains sounds LOVELY!

Marianna: The space is lovely and the energy is so peaceful.

Sherry: It won't be long before you are ready for a massage. You are already healing quickly. I had an exhausting weekend closing down one place and getting the other up and running. But it was a good kind of tired. You bet I was grabbing those rays like crazy and spinning more out to send others. Sending one your way.

I find that blogs reflect their authors, and when I come here, I always feel relaxed, you must really have a way with making people forget their tension! Your new work space looks wonderful! (Blogger did not show this post on my dashboard)

"Lady Day"? How did I miss that?!

I'm not sure what it is, but I envision it as a day where the ladies serve at my pleasure, which is pretty much like every day, except on this day they have to pretend to enjoy it.

Phil: I am practicing my acting skills. And smiling. And pretending to LOVE waiting on the one, the only PHIL!

Lady Day is the feminine version of The Playaz Ball.
