Happy Birthday, Friend!

My, my, my...life comes with a synchronicity that knows no bounds. The topic of this week's Theme Thursday is "FRIEND." As today is one of my best friend's birthday, I'm sure the theme selection was made in her honor. She is one of the people in the above photo. Like Waldo, she likes you to try to find her. Go on...the lucky winner gets a prize. Y'all like Limburger cheese, don't cha?

I guess I should start out by telling you how old she is...well, maybe not. Let's just say she's older than her daughter and younger than Mick Jagger. She is a self confessed "word nerd." She'll spank your apple bottom to a rosy red at Scrabble and challenge you to a race through the telephone book to look up a number. Man, woman or child, you better know your alphabet, because this is one win you'll have to earn.

She's been spotted drinking a bottle, or three, of Coppola wine and then hitting the gift boutiques on grape-buzzed shopping sprees. Okay, it was me that spotted her, but someone had to help her with all that wine. And friends don't let friends shop alone.

She once went here and dropped her cell phone from the third story balcony of the hotel. It is unclear if wine was involved in the brutal slaying of cellular technology. In true Tiger Woods fashion, she denied 'rumors' but explained little. Well, until she had to, of course.

She recently became a MIL. Yes, I meant MIL, as in mother-in-law, and not MILF even though some may see her as such. If you don't know what MILF is, watch the movie American Pie 'cause I'm not gonna explain it here. This is a picture of her grandpuppers, Love and California.

She's had many, many songs written about her by the man who "rocks" her world. Not to mention the unforgettable, although I'm sure she's tried, Oh, God, How I Love My Cabernet written by yours truly. I tried to find a copy of it but couldn't. I'll keep looking because I'm sure she'd love to see it here. Wouldn't you?

She loves books, chocolate, Cabernet and her "kid."

Although she's a good wife, she kinda has a "thing" for Cal Ripken, Jr. and Bruce Springsteen. She acts younger than she does old and she's old enough to have fun. She's a member in good standing of the Birthday Club, a group of us dedicated to getting together to celebrate each members special day.

Happy Birthday, dear friend.
And call the fire marshall...there's about to be one towering inferno of a cake!

aww...that's a good friend you've got there! Did she drop the cell phone on prpose? How odd, yet so spontaneous. Sounds like y'all have a lot of fun together. happy TT

They look like a fun group of people, but there is no way I am going to try and guess who is the birthday girl because all of them look too happy.

And you are such a good friend to share a bottle of wine and to join in with the shopping spree. A glass of wine sounds pretty good. And you know with a name like Sherry, I was born to like the wine. Hehe. Plus it means I just get better with time.

And did you see the lady drinking the glass of wine, the wine looks pretty darn good.

I love the grandpuppers too. Love and California, what more can one ask for, cause you know we must love California to keep living here, or is it the wine that keeps us here.

I would like to wish your friend a "Happy Birthday" and to make sure the fire extinguisher is nearby when the birthday candles are all lit up.

Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to Ronda's friend,
Happy birthday to you!!!

God bless.

Your friend sounds like a blast! I ditto JGH, would love to have wine with you two!

Baino said...

No idea who she is but I'm guessing the blond too if that's her in the bottom photo. She's lucky to have you and I love that you get together for each other's birthdays. Ours tend to go by with little aplomb unless there's a zero in the age!

Tom: No, she didn't drop the cell phone on purpose. But she was glad she had insurance on the plastic shards.

Sherry: Wow! Hadn't thought about your name. You do pair so well with wine. And, yes, you are right about Love n' California and the fire extinguisher. Thanks for singing her the birthday song. She's gonna kill me when she reads this post.

H-H: Ha ha ha! Yes, that would be the one under the table. How funny.

Alan: Very good guess but I'll keep the secret for a few more days as players will stil come through.

Ronda Laveen said...

DUTA: On her behalf, thanks for the birthday wishes. We will enjoy.

Subby: We have a wonderful group. I am blessed.

TechnoBabe: I am glad you like the holiday header. It is a photo of the mantle where I work. It is so simple and striking. Thanks for the hugs!

Candie: I know it was no coincidence:-) Love and light back to you!

Willow: Thank you!

Ronda Laveen said...

Brian: Yes, friends keep life interesting. And mine is very much so!

Mouse: Thanks for welcoming my friend to blogland. And, yes, Coppola Cabernet does rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skip: You do have an eye for the ladies! But I'll keep the secret a few more days so others can guess.

Leah: I love trying to make life fun. There is so much that is sad, hurtful, boring...but it doesn't cost a cent to make fun. Thanks.

Jai: Thanks, she is a wonderful friend and MIL.

JGH and Kate: Any time, my friends, any time!

Ronda Laveen said...

Baino: the person in the bottom is her daugher. Good guess, gonna keep mum for a couple more days so others can make a choice. Well, it used to be the same way for us, birthdays just sort of drifted away. That's why we started the club. Now we know that no how busy our lives get, five or six times a year, we'll all get together. It's hard getting all our schedules to align but we make it work.

Wings: Thanks!

Betsy: She is an AWESOME friend.

Otin: Down boy! No, that is not her but, it is her daughter. She is legal but only by so much. She's a doll isn't she?

Stephanie said...

You've got your mantle decorated for Christmas already. I am so far behind...

Reya Mellicker said...

Back when we were in our performance art phase, sometime mid-1970's, we dropped a TV out of a third story window, after painting and decorating it extensively. The sound it made when it landed was like an explosion played backwards. Very cool. Worth all the cleaning up we had to do afterwards.

Your friend sounds awesome. A toast to the birthday girl! BRAVO!!

Ronda Laveen said...

Stephanie: That mantle is decorated because it's "not mine." It is a photo of the mantle of where I work. I don't have a mantle and there would only be minimal decorating. I do like this one, though. Quite simple but effective.

Reya: I would have loved to have dropped a TV out of the third story! What a fun thing to do especially when you spent so much time getting it ready for the blast.

Yes, a toast to the birthday girl!

Dorraine said...

Happiness to the birthday girl! What a sweet friend you are to post a tribute like this, Ronda.:)

Janice said...

Here, here! A toast to you and your friend. Cheers!

Ronda Laveen said...

Dorraine: Whew! I'm now reveling in relief. She just e-mailed me and loved the post. I'll extend your good wishes. Thanks.

Janice: She loves toasts...especially with Cabernet. Cheers to you too!

Was She Making A Long-Distance Call?

Dorraine said...

Baby it's Cold Outside! Yes, it is. Snow here in south Texas today. And guess what? You are a winner! You and two others. Guess my ring tone was not as mysterious as I thought it was. Anyhoo, couldn't be more pleased to send you a little something. Please email me at ddauthor@aol.com and I'll send your gift along. Merry Christmas!!!

Happy, happy birthday to your best pal and many more! What a great tribute!

Man, I need to go on one of those shopping sprees...

Ronda Laveen said...

Foxter: I think she likes sorry old butts. Ahh, thanks.

Tony: HA! Long distance...that's funny! But actually, I think she was calling back to the mainland.

Dorraine: I'm a winner? Yeah! I think that song for a ring tone is so COOL, really cool!

Dreamhaven: Yes...all for one and one for all is the perfect sentiment!

Megan: You're invited any time for the shopping spree! Quite fun. Can't remember what we bought we had a lot of fun doing it.

It's the lady in the black blouse with the blond hair facing the camera saying something like: "Aaaw... a photo? That's really not necessary."

Where is my CHEESE?

Happy b-day Ronda's friend!

Mrsupole said...

Thank you for telling me who is the birthday girl. She was one of my guesses in my head. It was down to her and two more. So at least I was 33.3% correct. Hehe!!!! I guess none of us was even close.

God bless.

PS...are you sure she is not under the table, that is where I would be.
